At approximately 9:33 a.m., an undercover detective supplied Burris with the pre-recorded currency before she approached Hamilton. The two conducted a hand-to-hand drug transaction, during which Hamilton provided Burris with the illegal substance in exchange for the cash. Burris then returned to the detective with the purchased narcotics, which were field-tested and confirmed positive for cocaine.
The transaction occurred within 1,000 feet of Sarasota School of Arts and Sciences, located at 717 Central Avenue. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, Hamilton was not immediately arrested.
